Went out this morning, Missouri season starts Nov 1st, used 12 decoys on the ground with two in the trees near the blind. I have not hunted crows since highschool, I'm 40 years old now.
I used an MP3 player hooked to speaker with Bob Aronsohn's Confidence calls and Dennis Kirk's crow sounds, Vol 1, we killed six but shot at maybe 25. (I went through a box & a half of #6 high brass) We shot at some who were to high. Bob's "come here" call seemed to work the best.
We had a lot of fun but our shooting could have been better,,,My question is, can I get new crow sounds without buying a $400 Foxpro set up?
Also, the crows stopped coming about 9 am, we had a good blind...Is this about normal?
I'm now addicted to crows. My family thinks I'm crazy, I see crows and point them out every time we take a drive.
The first time I hunted crows in Missouri I took the wrong turn and wound up in downtown St. Louis. I was watching the crows flying through the arches in St. Louis.
You can buy sounds from Fox Pro for as little as $ 4.00 each! Just type in Bob Aronsohn and you will go to all the Bob Aronsohn crow calls for sale on that site. All Predator Calls and F & T Furs also carries my crow calls.
Welcome to Crow Busters!

Maybe you should try a hand call. They are relatively cheap and not all that hard to use. I got one of Bob Anderson's instructional cds and a mallardtone call and I love it. If you decide to go that route though make sure that you get a good call. Some of them are made to fool turkeys and not crows.
The calls that All Predator Calls sells are a cd that plays both cd or MP3 on the same disc! I had them made up that way, just go to the Bob Aronsohn calls.
