I've been on and off this forum for a couple years or more. Glad to see the forum now.
Last summer we hunted hard with my new Fox Pro Spitfire and 1 decoy. We used an Air crow with the spinning wings. It worked very well, but we want to also try different dekes to see if anything is better.
Hi Kev. Welcome to Crowbusters!! Good to have you here. I use the FX3 & carry 6 dekes with me. Sometimes I'll use em all & other time just 2. I like to bring a couple dekes back to the blind as I get some GOOD crows laid out. It seems to help just a little bit more with the realism I think.
Watch Em Fall and I have a Spitfire and we like it. It could be a bit louder but we are calling crows without any trouble most of the time. We are not out "west" where it's usually windy. We are in PA.
As for dekes.. it seems that if we just use 4-6 dekes..it works better. If we put out a huge flock (we have 34 dekes)..it brings them in skeptical. Maybe it's just the location.
Welcome Mainehunt, I use a Johnny Stewart ecaller & anywhere fron 2-8 dekes, sometimes put an owl out, but can't say that it works real well for me. I'm in upstate NY so I would think our situations are similar. Jerry

So are you saying that you use dead crows for decoys? If so, how do you lay them out exactly. I have tried it a few times but with no success.
