I have a couple of different CD's of the crow calling nature and have been playing around with the sounds a little. I downloaded Audacity (a free sound editing program) and then a couple of converters to change the sounds over to usable formats. It was not very complicated. I separated the calls of the tracts that I wanted to use and copied them to a new sound file and cleaned up all the noises that I didn't like and mixed and mingled them a little to come up with a neat little 2 minute MP3 that I can loop in my homemade E-caller. I will give it a shot this weekend and see how it works. I would like to make some MP3's of sounds that I have recorded but I am still too much of a novice with a hand call to generate calls that sound authentic. I am practicing daily with my new call and will record some soon I hope. I'll let y'all know if they work.
Just curious if anyone else is tinkered with this? If so, where are you getting your sounds??
