What's a Good day for you?

I was fussing about shooting so poorly this morning in another post and someone remarked the 19 would have been a good day for them where they hunt. That opened up a train of thought for me.... What is a good day?

I am a tinkerer. For me it is about learning what works and what doesn't work. There are a lot of reasons I love crow hunting. I will start another post on that topic at some point dealing with what makes a good hunt. But for now, what is a good Daily Total Body Count for y'all? And what state/country and general local are you hunting in?

I am in central Mississippi. For us, anything over 50 birds is a really good day. Our best hunt has been 117. I just started hunting crows this year and we have lots of local crows and plenty of places to hunt. We have had a total of 5 hunts this season that were over 60 birds each and our running TBC is up to 592.

I am really curious as to what the rest of the Crow Busters Global Nation has to say about this.

Yeah, so far a good good day for us is 6 to 10 birds. 3 to 4 hours hunting. Birds are sometimes not around for us too. Also they seem to get wise, pretty quick and stay away. Best we've done was 14 I think. That was me and Dave last winter.

It's always a good day for me, even if only 1 or 2 birds. My oldest son Lou (15yrs old) started hunting waterfowl this season with us, and is now a "crow buster" too. I really enjoy just getting out, with my good buddy Dave, and my son Lou, and having a great time together. Makes us all smile for hours, we love it.

Spending those few hours with family and friends doing something we love, is awesome, and I never take it for granted.

(But don't get me me wrong, the more birds we get, the more fun we have!!!!)

Average day for me is 8-10 birds for about 4hrs in the AM. Afternoon I can't buy a bird. My best hunts have been 20-20-19-19-17.

My primary goal on every trip out tho is to not get skunked. lol

I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada. Just a touch north and east of Maine.
For me a good day is 35 birds. That is a morning or afternoon hunt.
If I get 1 or 2, then at least I'm not skunked. Average day is 10-12.
A stellar day (only had one so far was 75).

Anything over 10 is a great day here where I hunt in TN. My three hunts of 2011 are 6, 13, & 11 in that order and usually last 4-5 hrs.

In the spring 15-20 crows from sunrise until coffee time is a good time for me. Crows are very wary in the spring as they have been hammered at all winter by the Mid West boys. Couple this with sparse cover and trees barren of leaves makes for very challenging shooting.

In the fall of the year, August, September and early October crows are rather dumb and are gathering in large groups. Half are young of the year that have likely never been shot at so without trying too hard, 40-50 per hunt is a good shoot for this part of the world.
