Taken what I have learn from this past duck season, what ever happened to the old just point and shoot ? Growing up all I ever heard was you have to pattern your shotgun. Now it is how far you can shoot with what choke? How does you pattern hold with what load ? How cheap of a shell are you shooting ? What aren't the birds falling? Then to beat all now you get in to the shot string. OH crap now something else to think of . Not only do we need to pattern out guns but to also think and look at how our loads string out. When does it all end ? Even though the article on load string that I read was really inligting.
just from my experience but it dont work for me. i once shot 250 times on a opening weeknd for doves & killed 3. lol ive tried everything for a consistent shooting pattern. i think i need electro-shock therapy! lol i once heard with a 10 ga. u just aim in the general direction. lol

I hear ya man.... way to much thinking going on LOL... just get out and do it.
I guess one thing that needs to be said is if you miss it is 100% operator error (haha). Pointers and suggestions will always help but until you find what works for you it is all trail and error. A friend of mine from my youth who was very good with a shotgun, never swung or followed through. He simply thrust up on target and fired and it worked well for him but it is unorthodox and would drive any accomplished shooting instructor insane. However I couldn't find fault with his results, he hit far more than he missed and if he did miss his second or third shot connected with scary consistency. Back then I never patterned a shotgun, and bought whatever shells were on sale and went with it. Man was that a simpler time, we couldn't afford to put any real research in, but we spent all our lawnmowing money on ammo and shot 50-150 rounds every week. I think practice might mean more than any fancy gadgets or quick fix.

whatever i'm doing i'm thinking about crow hunting
Watch Em knows me best of all and I keep saying Keep it Simple Stupid (K.I.S.S.). Get where there are crows, hide well and shoot instinctively (grip it and rip it).
Thinking is what we do during the day (AT WORK...some times..haha). Hunting is for enjoyment, good times and memories....leave the thinking at home/work.
