My daughters first crow hunt

Our Setup:

Edge of winter wheat field
Johnny S  PM3 - Crow #1
Remington 7 1/2 - Reloads   1350 fps
Mossberg 9200
NO DECOYS.

Today my 4 year old daughter and I went out for her first crow hunt.  We went out late around 1PM and I started off with "Crow Death Cry".

The first bird came in and I hammered him on the second shot.  I had my daughter tucked in next to me sitting on a log.  She loved it!!  We had a big red-tailed hawk come in and swoop the call and she thought that was awesome too....

After about 10 minutes we had 3 birds.  I missed a few up high searching.

Cherished Memories with my daughter!

Very cool, and it's a huge bonus that she enjoyed it...

Great story and nice pics. Kudos for including the little one as way to many guys don't and later wonder why their kids don't hunt. Also good call on the hearing protection. When I was young nobody cared about that kind of stuff and I grew up not worrying. Likely why today half my hearing is goneblankstare!

Yeah the ear protection is to protect her.  Most importantly I don't want to frighten her with the noise at such a young age.  She wears them when she sits in the deer blind with me.

It was a good day!  I'm anxious to get back out with the deeks

This is my second spread of pictures.  The first set was Saturday and this set is Sunday.  After things calmed down on Sunday with my 3 kids running around, me and my middle daughter went back out.

After stopping at Mcdonalds for a happy meal we made a 30 minute sit on public land close to home. Our second trip together.

My baby stops for a pic as we begin our set up in beautiful South East Michigan

THE SET UP.  She is ready to go.  Watching daddy set up Johnny Stewart Crow#1

After 15 minutes I pulled in a call smart bird with a PHD.  A public land bird with much curiosity and anger as "Crow Death Cry" sounded off.  He circled over and over above the tall pines.  After some planning I dumped the bird from the sky and he landed 10 feet from my little girl in the snow. She was amazed and hooked again.  Great Memories!

Success.  Bird #2 with dad
