Bob...NJ here. Hey guys, I finally joined and am sorry I waited so long. Its great to see others that are into crow hunting as much as I am. I enjoy it more than deer hunting. Been hunting them for over 10 years and I could have saved a lot of headaches if I knew about this site sooner. All trial and error, with a lot of error.

Anyone else on here from the northern NJ area? Always looking for a partner. I mostly hunt by myself because all my buddies are more into deer and the little woman hates that I am out there alone but I can't stay away.

The snow around here has been really tough this year over 2 feet in most of my spots and parking has been tough to say the least. Been using snowshoes to get in and out but its worth it. After a lot of research and scouting, I found a couple of flyways that always produce. Its just hard not over hunting them. Anyone familiar with the area knows hunting land in NJ is hard to come by.

welcome

i grew up in NJ and the farms there that i used to hunt are all subdivisions now.

thus - 'Southerner by Choice'

(although I've been told that it takes several generations to breed the Yankee out of us lol)

Some learn and breed better than others. I bet you can beat the curve. biggrin

Welcome Bob... Maybe we can connect sometime and meet at the Delware Water Gap and shoot crows on the river... You cover the NJ side and I'll cover the PA side! wink.gif

ecuchief,

John,
I have hunted a few times on the Jersey side from Van Campens down, never had much luck. They seem like "public" land birds, very cautious.

Have you ever hunted North of Van Campens heading to Dingmann's or Port Jervis?

I heard there was a roost out that way but it is not from reliable sources.
