Has anyone ever shot the same piece of paper multiple times then divided the circle into the number of times shot and counted the strikes?
Example
Shoot a paper 4 times. Fold it in half then fold it in half again. When it is opened it would have 4 quarters. Count all strikes in one section and you would have an average pellet strike.
Does anyone use this method and is there a reason not to?

Never tried it but sounds like it would be a good reference to what a gun, choke, and load combo would do on a consistant basis might settle this debate, but I have my doubts(lol).

Would it not be easier to shoot the same pattern paper 4 times and divide the hits by 4 times the pellet count. To me it's tedious enough to count the pellets from one shot much less four. Less chance of me loosing count and having to start again doing it one at a time.
I am talking about counting only ONE quarter section. If it is an even pattern, it should give an average pellet count for the 4 shots. It seem like this would speed up the patterning process. Shoot 4 time on one paper and only have to count 1/4 of them.
