My nephew and I bagged a new record total of 657 crows for the crow season just closed in Virginia. All of the crows were bagged using the run and gun method using # 7 1/2 and # 8 shot with improved cylinder chokes in 12 gauge guns. We used Remington Nitros or Sporting Clays loads. The great majority of them were shot on large farms just off a river or stream with lots of corn fields located nearby, although we did have some luck shooting from low pine trees located in lots of places around in the 5 counties we hunted. Most of the crows were downed at rather short distances; 30 yards or less and we used semi-autos in the process.
It was a great season and we hope we can get together again next year and bag another record total.
Montgo: Outstanding work!! Congratulations!!! What kind of semi's did you two use..if I can ask? Getting them in that close, you must be well hidden..and making some excellent crow sounds!!
