Last Day of The Season in "THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC"

Well boy's I ended my last day Friday in The peoples republic of Mass. It was over Saturday but I had to work,But!! I set up on one of my marsh spots with 2 dozen dekes,my "CROW TREE" / my 40 year old Carry lite flapping owl and 2 wounded expedite woodpeckers, we quit at noon.The tally was 40 dead,8 definite probables and at least12 screw ups!!disbelief It was a great day all in all gunning was done on "OLD CAPE COD" we (3 of us) had a sh-t load of laughs and ended up the day on the way home with veal parm,anti-pasto,grilled shrimp/prosuitto/linguine and chianti!! The dogs had a ball too,I'll post pic's soon!!biggrin

                             I had to loosten my belt 2 notches after eating,shooting and laughing!!

My crow shooting palate is not near as cultured Hizzoner. A cold corned beef sandwich chased down with some hot tea from my thermos is abot as fancy as it getssmile

Now thats the way to live, after hunting crows stop in and have a glass or two of Chianti before a nice meal, thats livin!

Hi Pap,

I hunted Ft. Cobb from the late 1960's to the very late 1970's. Crowzack also used to hunt down there as well, he would spend a whole month hunting around Ft. Cobb. Dick my crow hunting buddie also hunted Ft. Cobb, he would also take one months vacation and stay the whole month at Ft. Cobb. Ft. Cobb had lots of crows, but also had lots of educated crows, on average I had better shooting in Kansas because the birds were not hunted near as hard as Oklahoma. Grits Gresham the outdoor writer from the 1960's killed a little over 700 crows with one other shooter in one day in the Ft. Cobb area. That was a hallava shoot even in those days.
