I am not one to pound on his chest but I am very proud of my oldest son Ethan. He and another fellow fireman went to New York this past week to retrieve a piece of the World Trade Center to use to construct a memorial here in our town of Frankenmuth. I am proud that he serves our communtity to keep us safe and that he has the patriotic spirit to help us remember and never forget what happened on 9/11. Below is a link to a newscast of their trip and return to town.

God Bless our Police, Fire and EMS workers who serve us here at home and our soldiers who protect us abroad.

Congratulations to The Frankenmunth F. D. and this honourable task now almost completed. 343 of our brother firefighters perished that terrible morning. We shall never forget their sacrifice.

Michael Cawley FDNY died in one of the towers that day. He had the day off after working the night shift, but went anyway.

We share a last name but I'm not sure if we are related or not. I grew up just outside of NYC, and he was from Long Island.

Amazing how we all became a family at that time. God bless the FDNY and NYPD.
