I can't stand it any longer fellas My oldest son will make his first jump 2mar. He is to be in formation at 3:30 am. He has made it thru the first 2 weeks of AIRBORNE school at Fort Benning Georgia. He will be a junior this fall at SIUE (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville). The class started out with 513 wannabees and is down to 380 maybees. He said they figure to lose at least 50 more to injury. I ask him if I should go ahead and make my reservation for graduation Friday. He said Dad I'm gonna get them silver wings one way or the other so you better get down here if you want to see me pinned. I know a lot of vets are on this site that can appreciate what he is going thru. It's been almost thirty years since I have had the honor to set foot on the home of the infantry. I plan to see my boy get his wings Friday AIRBORNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Follow me I'm the Infantry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for investing the time to train up a young man who is willing to serve and sacrifice for our country. Tell your son congrats on a great accomplishment.
As a Navy vet, my hat is off to you and your son.

Thanx guy's,,,,,,,I am literally so full of pride I am walking into walls, I can't concentrate at work and I worry to death about a hard landing and an injury. I don't think I will make it when he gets deployed I now know exactly what my mother went thru when I did this to her. She always told me that someday I would understand On a lighter note he did say when they made the 7 mile run to the plane, one dude balked and would not get on the plane. I cant repeat what the (Black hats) put him thru lets just say he had 3 minutes to clear his gear out of the barracks when he made the long walk back. Dustin has 2 jumps to make 2mar. He can't wait, he loves it!!!!! By the way he was the 3rd man in his stick for his first jump, Said it was the most awesome thing he had ever done....... I'll keep you posted
Chip: You sir, have a great honor in store for you! Your son is a great honor for the rest of us. Thank you for sharing this... and please keep us posted.
