I am steady improving! I have spent all spring and now summer shooting 5 stand, skeet, trap, and sporting clays. Of the 4, I have shot mostly sporting clays. I shot my best two rounds ever this weekend. On Friday I shot a 45 out of 50 with three lost birds that I wanted back. Today I shot another 45 with one crosser missed and 4 rabbits. The crosser I missed behind and the rabbits were all bad hops. One rabbit chipped just before I SMOKED it and then made to following shot in the report pair. I decided to shoot the pair again and I missed the rabbit on a bad hop and broke the bird. no should have taken the first broken pair but I was going for my personal best and wouldn't have felt right about it. I HATE WABBITS!!!! They screw up good scores.

When have been using 5 stand to warm up with. Me and two of my kids each take a stand. My kids have first shot. If they miss, I get to clean up the mess. I will usually start with the gun unmounted and see if they can hit it. I throw singles, report pairs, and true pairs. By waiting on them to shoot, recognize the target was lost, and them mounting and shooting, it makes for some difficult cleanup work. Some of the shots are 40 to 50 yards and are a good test. I don't break them all that's for sure but we all get good laughs. biggrin Noah (9 yrs old) was crushing the crossers today with great consistency. He shot several report pairs and a couple of true pairs. Very proud of the way he is shooting. He followed that up with a 20 on the sporting clay range.

Sporting clays is a lot of fun when you can't shoot crow.

Greg,

You're sons are very lucky to have a father that does things with them.

Those crows will pay this fall!

You work for the sporting clay range don't you? Where is it in relation to Jackson?

Bob, I don't work there, just volunteer. It is about 20 miles north of Jackson.  The boy and girls have a great time at the range.
