Been after a few groundhogs the past two weeks. it's been so hot these critters are reluctant to poke their head up during daylight hours.  Anyone have any luck in this weather?

Yote, mornings with the dew still on the ground, thats how the chucks get most of thier water, after rain storms, and 6.00 p.m.is magic time for chucks up here.I stake out a few holes and just watch,no matter how hot it is.They have such veracious appities, that they have to come out sometime. Most of the time every two hours or so...

It's good to know you are having some luck.  I can literally see three different holes all within about 150 yards from each other at one lookout point.  I have seen these critters out and about early in the Spring before I got the .17HMR.  Now....been three weeks....no chucks.  I've sat at sunrise....and late one hour before sunset.....not a peep.  They may have packed up and left town....lol
