I know I don't make it around here much during the working season for me. I wish I had more time to participate as I really like it here. I do check in on occasion but that's about all I have time for right now. I certainly haven't forgotten about you guys or crow hunting tho. And I just stopped by quick to show off the fruits of my labor this Summer.

I've got a 1/2 dozen "good" crows under the belt of the 712 now. It seems to fit me good. Now I just gotta quit leading so much. It seems I had to lead a lot more with the 20ga. I suppose going from 7/8oz to 1 1/8~1 1/4oz of 7 1/2's is the difference.
Busted another dozen this AM with the 712. 10 in the pic & 2 in the river. LOL Used the Remington Gun Club 7 1/2's again today. Shot a whole heckuva lot better too. I shot just under 50%. Not bad considering a month ago I couldn't hit the ground if I fell!! LOL
I was thinking about getting a CZ. I heard alot of good things about them and that they are reasonbly priced. I have a Beretta 390 that I use for crows but want to add to the arsenal. Please let me know how you like that gun and if you have any problems.
Hi gearly-- So far I'm very happy with it. I've had 2 stove pipes on shots directly overhead. They were both leaning back shots by the time I got thru the swing on the bird. I did get one of the 2. I haven't had time to clean the gun yet either. I wanted to see if I could get around 4-500rds thru it before I did to see if I would have any problems in case I went out of town with it & forgot my cleaning supplies. I've shot 3-4 boxes thru her so far.
Glen You can't go wrong with the gun clubs. We argue all the time on this site about loads and shot size. But if you stick with one load, whether it be junk federal, crap winchester, or Remington gun clubs your shooting will improve. Look at the load and the FPS before you look at price. After you are to the point of total cofidence with a load, then you can start playing with different speeds and loads. Until then stay with one,,,,,,,,,,,,, Remember FPS. Before long you will get in a groove.....
Thanks Chip. I've been feeling the groove a lot quicker on each hunt. I'm getting my 1st shots off quicker & more accurately already. I bought a case of the Gun Clubs & am seriously considering another case. I'm going to attempt to reload these hulls as well. I like the 7 1/2's. Always have. I know the 8's give a denser pattern but I just can't get myself over the hump on them for some reason. I'm sure they are fantastic tho. I haven't found anything over 1200fps that this gun likes either so I'll stick with that when I begin my new reloading venture.
3 more yesterday plus a few other birds. This was the coldest day by far. It was 14* here. The 1st shot of the day stovepiped. It was at an incoming bird slightly to the right & holding course. At about 60*-70* of angle I let loose. The hull stuck. I pulled it out & found the front of the 2nd round had caught on the brass of the 3rd. I still have no idea what caused that. The 712 worked flawlessly after that. I got another 2 boxes thru her since I last reported at various targets & objects. I might clean her today.
