As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words... and this one says at least that much! Please meet my oldest grandson Reade Daniel, age 14, posing with full grin behind his first two KIA'd crows taken on opening day (last Saturday) of dove season here in N.C. I remember well my first crow hunt. I was one year older but the 15 crows I shot at that day are still flying as far as I know! Reade was 2 for 3 running and gunning IN the woods and managed to make fine shots amongst the trees/bushes you see here. I was impressed.
He was using my 12 ga. Maxus, Imp. Cly with Nitro 27's with #8's. Dove season here on opening day does not come in until noon which gave us some morning time to bust some crows. He later downed 7-8 doves in a slow moving dove day...but the day was "outstanding" for both as you might imagine especially for his granddad.
Very nice Skip! Looks like he is enjoying himself, and it sounds like you did too. I think he's ready for a full day of run and gun with grandpa and the NCCP!
