I scouted about 50 percent of my public land spots today. I must say my numbers are up a bit. I guess M12 shooter wasn't joking about a southbound migration. I had one field that had just been planted in winter wheat that had about 250 birds in it. I took pics but refuse to post em. (got burnt last year doin that). I have access to about 20 miles of Mississippi river bank to shoot. A murder here and there not much yet. My river spots are for late season when all there is to eat is fish. I am not happy about the birds I am seeing though. Not many young birds. That worries me. It usually goes right along with the spring turkey hatch. I have not seen any poults with adult hens. It's official we have had a bad hatch, it aint gonna be pretty. I don't need to scout my private land. They are there. My second hunt on Saturday spot is loaded. Big farm with tons of feed. I have to wait til my son can shoot em with me so I promised to wait til Saturday. I will have to say I am getting pumped
