Becoming a member online?

Being in Japan, I am far from the letter in the mail.  Is it possible to send money through paypal, or ask a member to accept paypal and send in for me?

Sorry, but to keep the cost of membership to what it is we don't have a method to pay online. Good hunting.

IF any member is willing to accept money from me and send it in, I would appreciate it greatly. Even send extra for a beer for the trouble.

administrator,
A not trying to step on toes here, but a paypal account is FREE. You would be able to add a payment button to your site for FREE. Paypal takes 2.9%+ $.30 per transaction. Just make the online payment fee $5.47 and after the paypal fees you still have $5.00 left. You do not have to have a paypal account to make payment using the paypal payment button it will accept any CC.

I dont think people will mind paying $5.47 when the membership is normally $5.00 a stamp costs $.44 then you have the cost of an envelope and a piece of paper. It all comes out in a wash.

I think you will actually see a large growth in membership here if you were to add this option and this would benifit everyone.

Thanks for the advice and I'll look into the Paypal option and I certainly don't care about the 47 cents. Most of the payment requests in the past have been to use a credit card directly and that type of setup does have hefty monthly costs. Thanks for getting me to look in this direction.

I have to be honest, I have never joined just because I never get around to sending a check. I know that may seem trivial, but it's the truth. If I could Paypay you the money, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I would pay a few bucks extra just to do it that way, so .47 cents wouldn't bother me.

When you place an order at CrowMart you can pay for a membership then...Visa, MCard, cash, checks, MOs and "trinkets and beads". I've been doing that for six years. Yes the credit cards do have hefty fees but CrowMart uses them for your convenience.

Glad to know I am bringing changes to the site. Keep the account personal (doesn't accept credit cards), and payments sent as gifts and you should be fine.

I would like to say thank you to a member here for helping me out with membership. If he would like I will post his name, but if he is reading this, thank you very much, and I will keep my eye open for a chance to pass it on.
