My favorite part is the last shot where it fully shows how one must keep your check on the stock or you will  not have a chance to make a shot.

Thats Awsome..

Ok. First, what kind of set up did you use with decoys. Second, I heard very little calling. How did you get them to come in? And what size shot?

I will let Mike answer most the questions since he is the guide on these hunts.  One of the sounds we use I had to buy for 500 bucks! no

I shoot "whatever is cheapest by the case at the time shells"and I'm pretty sure John is the same way, except he has an ammo dump that would rival Bob A.!
and I think I shoot mostly 7-1/2's trap loads improved cylinder, not sure about John, don't think it would matter much, he can hit them way out there or up close and personal,he's right up there being one of the top shooters I've hunted with. I shoot a Baikal/Remington semi 12, and I think John shoots a Cordoba? he can correct me if needed.
He lies, I'm not the guide, I am the student he is the teacher, It is one of my spots, not near the roost, but near a feedlot, we just scatter the dekes out front,(GHG) this time up wind a little, had the deadly triple play crows, ( we went out often and rounded up any crips and fallen birds that were far away, so they wouldn't "hang up" over those birds) and we had Johns pride and joy, the custom SNO-CRO-PRO, it makes me want to drop some serious cash after hearing that thing blast out loud and clear in the strong winds we were hunting in. It was one of the "keys" for sure.

I was using a 'Contour HD 1080P helmet cam strapped to the side of my head( thats why it's all over the place wiggling etc.) had it set at lower resolution/quality settings to maximize record time and battery.
the youtube video doesn't do it justice,( I wasn't happy with the quality or the sound either), it got jacked up in the upload to youtube. I burned a dvd and it looks great, I am going to try to reformat the vid to get the better quality and upload that instead.
I got 2 -1/2 hrs before the batts gave out on me,( right in the middle of some hot solo action after John left, you will see some of that on part 2)
I have since purchased 2 spare batts, should get a full day with the 32 GB card.

Mixmaster John will have to tell you what sounds we used but we were blasting it often and then some finishing with mouthcalls

I shoot 7 1/2's as well.  They simply work the best at all ranges and you can hit some high ones as well.

I made up my own sound of 2 young crows in a claw to claw battle and they come in hot and low to help out.

The caller is key as well.

Mike is a great guide, guide me to a spot and I am here to help.  If you have a large concentration of crows just PM me or call me.  More then happy to help, will travel!

Thanks again Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi John and L&S,

Very nice video and shooting....  I have "helmet" cam on backorder, too.  The FoxPro Snow Crow Pro 2 with the "Plus" upgrade is a world class ecalling device and combined with John's shooting ability and hunting savvy makes a deadly combination in the field.

Regards,

Thanks Bob I  bet we would have been 200 if we had the turn table.  I will let you know how it works and I would like to order a pallet or the sub sonics.  Let me know what ones I should get maybe I can have them drop ship you like 1/2 a pallet if you want them.

John

Hi again John,

Texas Matt and I took 58 crows today at a couple of new spots we have developed this fall.  That puts us at 418 for the month, just 11 short of our all time TCP monthly record.

We are both using our "Maxus with a Metro" and loving it vs. our former pumps.  Much lighter, better handling, even less recoil and autoloading, of course.  I suspect Lone Star Phil and our other colleagues will be adopting this excellent technology in the future.  Are you using that new Remington auto we first saw at the Shot Show in January?

The Federal with are now embracing is their sub-sonic "TGM123" shotshell loading - (http://www.federalpremium.com/m/product_details.aspx?f=5&t=4&br=85&id=728).  Thanks for your kind offer but T-Matt just received 15 more cases from Roger Sporting Goods in Arkansas to resupply our crew.  We are good to go!

The USA Turntable also seems to be working well for us, pulling in crows from all angles and adding that unique motion component to our ecalling.

Good Luck and Good Hunting,
