After leaving work a little late today (12:15) I was totally ambivalent about going crow hunting. I couldn't go yesterday because I had an appointment for a physical and the day before I never got a shot. I checked out two spots without seeing a crow and almost didn't go to this place. When I pulled in a steady stream was flying out of the North. Winds were gusting west north west which made the blind at the end of the longest walk the best spot. I shot two birds with two shots walking out. I set up quickly and got overwhelmed killing another 40 birds in less than an hour. I finished the day with 53 birds for 71 shots. A personal best for me on a solo hunt. I took the Parker I have owned the longest, a no frills 28" barreled Trojan 12ga from 1913. The 1 1/8 ounce 6's was just grinding the birds up as they stalled in the head wind.
