I am doing a little research and was wandering if anyone has every tried to record their own REAL crow sounds? I was checking on the needed equipment and it seems the only things needed are a directional or parabolic microphone and a recording device.
I have lots of friends in the music field and I don't think it would be a problem to get one of them to loan me the equipment or some may even be willing to come record it for me.
I was thinking of placing a remote like a Nandy with a external mic attached in the top of a tree and luring them in with a call. I would place dead crows under the tree. When crows were inbound turn the call off and record the assembly calls and inbound birds as they called to each other over the dead birds.
What's y'all's thoughts on this?
