I just got back from out of town today and had a very productive crow hunt.
The first day all I did was scout from sunup to sunset. The next day I shot 161 crows from 7:30a.m. - 9:30a.m. then went out that afternoon and shot 340 crows from 2p.m. - 5:30p.m. I used 546 traploads for the job, and the total for the day was 501 crows. The next day I shot 227 crows from 730a.m. - 11:30a.m. with 298 12guage traploads. I went out that afternoon and had a wild crowhunt, I shot 290 crows from 3p.m. - 5:15p.m. and used 382 12 & 20 guage hulls for the job. The total for the day was 517 crows.
I slept in the next morning, and went out in the afternoon and got on a good flyway and shot 350 crows from 12:30p.m. -5:15p.m. I used 481 traploads for the job. The total for 2 1/2 days of hunting came to 1,368 crows which is as good as it gets.
I thought for a change I would post some photos of crows that were alive for a change.
On the first day I forgot to add, I used 200 12 gauge trap loads for the 161 crows in the morning. So I actually used 746 trap loads not 546 for the whole day of shooting.

Minnesota John was in my motel room when you had sent him a text message on saturday night. I was hunting alone and he was with his partner (the other Mike) so we run into one another while scouting a fair amount of the time. They didn't hunt on saturday, they just scouted. Up to that point they were a little over 500 crows on this trip.
You need a little luck to get shooting like that Mike. I had a shoot last season where in 4 days I shot 2,193 crows, some days I setup twice while on others only once.
John mentioned that you had called him and you guys hunted together.

Hello Elkhunter & Hooks 2 best, In the photos I posted I like the third one ( L to R ) the best. Barry, I bet you like the first photo the best? Hey, has your wife shot any deer yet with her bow? Hooks, how long have you been chasing crows ?

She killed 2 doe with her bow the first day in her stand this year. I have taken 3 so far. We are both going bow only this year. I am a much better guide than a hunter! She will agree! LOL

Bob, I have wanted to hunt them for a long time but never actually went till last year. My partner and I went last Thursday (opening day) and killed 15 which is the most in one day so far. I learned so much so far that I hope I can get some found to be able to have a better hunt.
Mike
When I'm scouting sometimes I see something worth taking a few photos of.
Hi M12, I suppose so. I went out today not to far from home and shot 127. 48 in the morning and 79 in the afternoon. They were pretty soft shots, used 150 odd trap loads for them.
Hooks, getting to know the hunting area helps a lot. Learning the crows habits helps as well.

The new camera has a much more powerful tetephoto lens where I can zoom in on crows a quarter of a mile away.
When Dick and I get together next month I will post some action photos of Dick doing what Dick does best.
I have 3,010 in the bag so far so I have a real shot at breaking my 1997 record of 6,349 crows if I get the right breaks this season. If I do I do, if I don't I don't, but I'm sure going to try!
So have you been out yet? If so, how is your season going?
