This was Noah's first deer! Started off the morning getting busted by a doe that smelled us. Then had a buck crash in checking his scrape line but it did not present a shot. Finally around 9 AM had three does come into the stand. Noah was asleep when I poked him and pointed to them. He got his gun up and had to wait on one to clear the trees. He kept saying "I can't find it" while looking through the scope. I was really nervous. I kept saying "just shoot one!" Finally he got his scope on one and then flinched and didn't pull the trigger. I said just shoot it. By this time all three deer were looking straight at us. They appeared at 40 yards and Noah took the shot at 35 yards when the doe cleared the trees with a Ruger .44 Mag carbine. The deer dropped instantly and Noah turned to me with really big eyes and said "I just killed a deer... my knees are shaking!". To which I replied "Mine too!!!"
I think the smile says it all.
OK. Enough of this nonsense. Back to crow hunting.
Carry on.
