85 days in 2011, 873 birds. Bob your bird per day average is incredible, you obviously hunt in crow Mecca.

Hello NH,

My average per day was higher than that prior to mid December because I was hunting alone. Once I start to hunt with Dick I get half the shooting.

The main thing is to have areas where no other crow hunters are hunting, this way you know the birds have time to rest after you pull out of an area. When you go back a month later new birds are in the area that were not shot into which makes things much more enjoyable. There is nothing worse than to turn on the caller and have the birds do a 180 and head in the other direction. This happened to Dick and I in one area this season, it had been shot to death. Dick & I didn't waste our time on that area, we pulled out and headed for another area. We had to drive a few hundred miles but that is what it takes if you want to get decent shooting throughout the entire season.

Many of the motels that Dick & I stay at ask what we are hunting? If the area has geese we tell em geese, if no geese or ducks we tell em coyotes! This way you keep it on a very low profile, as a friend (Joby) of mine says, loose lips sink ships!

Talk with you soon I hope.

Bob A.

Skeetshooter and I usually hunt as a team and don't keep up with individual numbers but the total is 19 days and 1562 birds.

Amen on the loose lips thing Bob!!

On another note, my numbers include my buddy that hunts with me. I just keep a total and not indivudual numbers.
