Looks like a good long barrel for sure If they come in low never have to fire a shot ! Just knock them in the Head

We will most defiantly modify yours Jon. I should have it done by the end of next week. I figure the configuration should have a picatinny rail so that we can add a laser, light, Night vision, shell holder, cup holder and a cappuccino machine. That way, we will have the light to see it, the laser to point it out, NV for back up, extra shells to shoot with, the bayonet to cut it up, a cup holder to hold our coffee while we hunt.

Now that would be the way to go.

Thanks, I was working on one and painted it. Then I realized that I need to make my other gun that I carry, well I got bored and it had to match.

PP, you should try the Federal metro load.  The are subsonic, but use 1 1/8 oz of shot, so they will cycle some semiautos.

Seriously, for dispatching hoppers I sometimes carry a Ruger Old Army revolver afield loaded with shot.  So far, field tests have determined a 00 ball plus #8 shot in a paper capsule are the most efficient erasers.  Using a black powder pistol throwing ball and shot is zany enough for the way we ride, keeps the decibel level in line with our quiet shotguns, produces some interesting muzzle flamage and a satisfying cloud of blue/white smoke that amuses Gadget Bob and Texas Matt.  And, there is nothing that says, 'finis' like a smoking bullet hole.  I understand Puppy Popper getting bored!

Shot - the loads will not cycle the action with the tube off. On the bottom of the box, it states not to use in an autoloader . It pushes the bolt back almost to the point of throwing the shell and stops there. After I finish Jon's, I think I am going to build one for the Benelli, just to see if it will work and just to have one on the Benelli . The one pictured is on a Baikal and I have the gas system turned all the way down. I am thinking of ordering anther spring for it and cutting off a round of spring. Now granted if I can get my hands on some Federal Metro loads, that might change some things.

Talking about a cheap way, Find the cheapest extended choke you can get. Pick up a scrap of 24", 3/4" conduit and some JB weld . The two part mix, not the putty. You will be good to go after that. A barrel extension for less than $70 bucks.

Oh, then you got to paint it.

The only down side is that when I finish Jon's and find out how it really is supposed to work I'll have to go buy an 870.

Wait, another gun, where is the down side to that ?

Now that's just funny. Still working on #3. No reports yet, but having fun trying.

Well, its the most unorthodox thing that you will ever see. I start off with a vision of one thing and by the end of it , it's something else. I have to paint a stock this weekend. I'll takes some pics as I go along with it.

Puppy, I think a lot of us are impressed with your camo jobs. If you ever get bored, I'd love to see a post on how you lay that paint down, step by step. thx Jerry
