I ended up going out the last day of the season here in Pa, and whacking a few crows........I had a great time, and a lot of fun for as tough as this year has been to stomach.......here is a quick picture for yins
Not a bad way to spend the last day of your official crow season. Were you solo, run and gunning or shooting from a blind?
Ted
I was hunting with a buddy..........the first 7 were killed in a feeding setup out of a blind first thing in the morning, the rest were taken run and gun.........here is a list of the run and gun sets in order, and the number of crows......2(4),3(1),4(0),5(2),6(1)

That's workin' hard to git-er-done right there! Nice way to end the season.

We actually only had about three misses until we got to the fifth set, then that went down the tubes..........we should have came out of that one with at least 7, but we rushed getting set-up, and didn't really expect that many crows to come in...........we had ourselves hid in a hemlock tree too much to shoot effectively.........Im sure you know how that goes......

Were you watching me that day I was hid in a bush so thick I couldn't even tell which end of the gun to stick out? Yeah, I've made more that my fair share of bad sets.

Glad you guys had a decent day. Bet you did a little celabrating afterwards.
I got out later in the morning and cracked the first two. The wind just kept getting worse as the day went on in the area I was hunting and the rest that I called were all high flyers. It was still fun to crack a couple of more before the season ended though.

I think we all have "failed" more than once in finding that fine line between being hidden good enough...and hidden to good to shoot...
I had one fly by me last weekend that my buddy had just missed, that crow was realy moving...and realy close...my 1st shot was probly 2 foot behind it, 2nd shot may have warmed his tail feathers...got it on the 3rd shot.....I was laughing at myself for being so slow.....
I may have done better by turning the gun around and using it like a ball bat........lol!!
Hey buck shot great way to finish up!! Email me your cell number be nice to easily contact a local crow hunter a bout hunts and maybe get together when the season comes back in im not sure how to send a private message on here my email is k_gulvas@yahoo.com
