I am lucky enough to live less than an hour away from one of the biggest public art competitions in the USA...it might even be the biggest. Anyway, I am not really the fancy art type but this competition is geared more toward the general public so it is quite enjoyable to stroll around town to see the many pieces. There are well over 1000 in this Grand Rapids based event. I think the prize purse is around 500K if I am remembering correctly. There are folks from every segment of society in attendence so the "people watching" can be top notch. You can google "Artprize Grand Rapids" for more info.
I found one piece of art that really spoke to me. A giant crow! It was made completely of old tires. Pretty neat. Sorry, I was rather distracted during the photo because my 2 1/2 year old little girl started causing a scene for reasons only known to her.
Bob, I think 7 1/2s to the face would still take this one down.
I could use that as a spotter decoy so the crows could see it from the next county! Many years ago they used to cut tires in half and use them as goose decoys before the wind sock decoys came on the sceene.

The fish crow sitting on my forearm ( in my Avitar ) was Jerry Byroad's pet. That photo was taken in Jerry's kitchen in Maryland. We were hunting crows just within a few miles from "Camp David" in some areas.
"Bandit" lived to be around 12 years old before she checked out.
