Hey, I am Josh. I live in southern Illinois and have been after the crows for a few years now and am just starting to get things together enough to kill some crows. haha
Anyway, I was wondering if anybody knew if the amp on the spitfire has enough watts to get enough volume with an sc610 speaker over the stock speaker to justify buying. I seem to only be able to find small local groups of crows to hunt and would like to get a little more volume for the windy days.
If I understand your question correctly, you're talking about replacing the original speaker, right? I have that same call but I have never tried replacing the speaker. I have added a speaker to it though, plugged it into the jack on the side. It didn't add any volume, but it does allow me to direct the sound in more than one direction.
Sorry, I didn't really specify. Right now I am just looking to use it as an additional speaker by plugging it in the side of the caller, for when I go crow hunting.

Like I said, mine is the same volume with 2 speakers as it is with one. They guys in the tech team here at work tell me that I need a separate amplifier for the second speaker (with its own separate power source) in order to raise the volume.
Yeah thats what I was afraid of. Can you or anybody recomend a good amp for the 10W speaker? I have looked around some and alot of people use the radio shack mini amp with their homemade callers, but I am not sure if it would be enough.
I have a FX3, and I bought the extra speaker that plugs in the jack, from FoxPro, and it did raise the volume. It also does as Mainehunt said, lets you send the sounds in more directions. I would give the extra speaker from Foxpro a thumbs up.....also only around $50.00...I think its worth it , at least on a FX3.
Ok, the more I searched around it looks like getting the sp-55 is probably the best option. haha
Yep, when I was looking for more volume I tried the horn from my JS Preymaster, and it didn't seem any louder........I called Foxpro up, and the way that it was explained to me was...........the horn that you are attaching to the call has to be of higher quality than the internal speakers to get any benefit from the external speaker.......They suggested the SP-55, So I bought it, and I am entirely happy with it, I got a substantial increase in volume with it.....
Ok good deal! Do you notice any significant decrease in battery life while using it?
Nope, I can hunt all day long on one set of batteries with my Firestorm.............I usually shut the rear speaker off, and just run the speaker out of the rear ext. jack...........
