Today was a tough day to stay focused, stay warm and stay the whole day. I hunted with Charles and Isaac today. It started out at 6 degrees with a 30 mph wind coming at us from our 10 o'clock. Very could to say the least. I brought bottled water and it froze solid in an hour, triple threat decoy wouldn't run with brand new Duracells. My Foxpro would run about an hour then it would stop, switch the cold batteries with warm ones from our pockets and it would run again. A Little buddy heater laid on its side worked as a cook top to heat up $hit on a shingle. Isaac made some fantastic moose sausage gravy poured over his home made biscuits. ( he shot a great bull moose a couple months ago) That with hot coffee kept us from freezing. We only managed around 45 crows. We saw a couple thousand bu the bulk of them stayed a half mile away eating on the cow manure that they spread on distant fields throughout the day. HOWEVER, we had a blast. The only mishap was when I unscrewed the propane tank from the heater/stove. The opening of the tank stayed open somehow, (probably from running it horizontal which is incorrect, my fault) and sprayed liquid gas on my fingers. It immediately felt as if they were burned by boiling water. Still hurts a little now, hours later. I took some photos and will try to load them tomorrow. Kev

I forgot to say that we shot 3 different crows that all had something white in their beaks as they came in but never finding the objects after they hit the snow.
