My new ammo :-(
Permalink

FFS, just putting the ammo away and looked in the box, thought those look bloody small.

Too damn right, the idiot only gave me 50 grain 223 instead of 50 grain 22-250 GRRRRRRRRRRR

I'm annoyed to say the least

So just rang said I'd come straight down and change them so I could go out tonight.

Only problem is he has none in stock FFS, but going to get some for the beginning of the week GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

And now I'm really annoyefurious

means no fox shooting tonight, or tomorrow blankstare

Yep, went out lamping foxes tonight with a mate. He got out of the car and he dropped and broke his lamp, so I ended up lamping and calling for him, and never got a shot off.

He got one fox, we saw loads, but they wouldn't commit to somewhere where the shot was safe

Plus, it was supposed to be dry and wind still but was blowing hard and rained no

oh well, maybe next week will be better lol

You need to say a prayer, toss some salt over one shoulder and scatter some chicken bones............something has to change your luck.

Redditch
Beauty is only skin deep, Ugly is all the way through.

How's the ammo situation there in Ireland? Over here it's hard to find any of the popular calibers in pistol or rifle and when you do find it it is 100 to 200 % higher then six months ago.

Yep, prices seem to be going up, and some calibres (read bullet weights in calibres) are hard to get.
No one seems to have 50 grain 22-250 at the moment, but everyone has 55 grain LOL.

So, after yet another week of waiting, they were promised for the Saturday again, and then for Monday, but when I rang hey still said they hadn't got any, so I said I'd take 55 grain instead of 50.
Am told to come to the shop. Get to the shop, no one here, so ring, and told to come to the house. Get to the house, and no, they say they don't have any there, go to shop they will be there shortly. Get to shop, and 20 mins later the appear, and no, none in stock at shop, they "must be at house after all" grrrrrrrr.
So wait another hour while they go to the house to get 55 grain, and they return with 50 and 55 grain, so they had stock, and I was without ammo for two weeks because they hadnt looked properly
They drive me mad LOL, and then they expect me to be a loyal customer ?

SCREW that dude selling the ammo. There has to be some place else you can buy it in your country.

Better yet, is it legal to load your own ammo over there. You have to put more money up front of course, but it's cheaper in the long run. It's also fun and satisfying.

Yep, but nearest other gunshop is 35 miles away, so a 70 mile round trip. I used to reload, but sold everything before moving back to the UK, so going to have to buy everything new again :((

almost impossible to get .223 here.

i use an online supplier, but they sell out within minutes of going up for sale.

none of my local gunshops have had 223 since sandy hook, and wally world quit selling it.

wish i'd gotten into rolling my own when a buddy of mine suggested it years ago, but at the time it was cheaper to buy russian stuff in bulk.

No problem in getting ammo here, just things like 50 grain seem to have sold out, lots of 55 grain still though

I think you might find reloading worth the upfront cost. If you could figure a way to buy up the .223 that you have over there and sell it in the states you would be able to very quickly have the cash to buy the reloading equipment.  .223 is really hard to find and I think that for almost any kind of semi auto in that caliber the wait is a year or more and I know at least one manufacturer is not even taking orders for guns right now.   I talked to one distributer who said they sold out really quickly and now they have nothing to sell except for one kind of gun that I checked out on line and it was something completly different.  Feel bad for all these shops who could sell more guns if only they had some to sell.  I am sure it is tough to run a gun shop as it is and the loss in potential revenue has to hurt.  I guess at some point production will catch up but for now the few I talked to do not have any and have to repeat the same thing many times every day.

Trouble is, would need an export permit to sell to the states, then an import permit from a stateside person too. Lot of paperwork, and they make that very expensive too
If it was simple, yep, could have done it, but ammo here is already about £26.50 a box of 20 for Remington (RRP is £36.50 lol), so way more than what you guys are used to paying
PPU is cheaper at about £10.50 a box, providing you buy 1,000 a time.

£10.00 = $15.50 USD so that would hurt lol

I know different people who have purchased AR-15's in the past week. They're out there if you look hard enough.
