Prefer snow to rain any day. After 9-10 months of none stop rain, and only three days of snow, the farmers and I are all fed up. Even on top of the hills we've been sinking to our knees in mud
In snow I can still shoot crows, pigeons, foxes, squirrels, but not when its raining and the fields are quagmires
Fog, I can shoot birds, just not foxes, ice I can shoot everything, snow, sun, drought, no problems, shooting carries on, but continuous rain ruins everything

We're getting snow mixed with rain right now.

Sorry that you have to put up with those terrible conditions Redditch.

6-12 inches of snow forecast here depending on location. I've just about had it with winter!

Be careful what you wish forbiggrin........although at least with snow you could build an igloo blind.

Yep, not only could I build an iglo blind, i could drive over the fields, and walk over them too, and then the birds and foxes and bunnies would all be out looking for food, and make my job a lot easier

On the topic of weather..
Yesterday my friend and I went hunting, and we couldnt seem to get the attention of crows in the area... When we left we seen a large group of crows (100 at least) in the road on the side of the road, this was probably a half of a mile from the farm we were at. We decided to see what they where eating in the road figuring it was road kill. When we pulled up there was nothing dead in the road, but there was a pile of salt from a plow truck, becasue the roads where snow/ice covered. So I was wondering has anyone else witnessed anything like this? When the fields are snowed over have you seen crows eating the salt off of roads?

Undz22,
I have never seen a crow eating salt on the road, but I've seen a bull moose right down on his knees licking the edge of road for it.
