Real Struggling Crow Sound

Went out yesterday afternoon with my daughter. Knocked down a single.  She went to get it and she yelled back that it wasnt dead and was afraid it would bite her.  When I got to it, I had just clipped its wing. I put my foot on it and it went crazy... squaking and flapping around.  That gave me an idea. So I got out my phone and recorded its sounds with the voice recorder.

Today, had some free time so I converted this to a mp3 and edited the sound with audicity.  I put it on my Foxpro caller and it sounds pretty good.  Don't know if it will work or not, but I will give it a try... Maybe mix it in with a hawk or owl sound later.

I would like to post the sound here for other people to try if they want it.  Click here to download it.

If you use this and have success... just let me know that it worked for you.

Awesome Kirk. Thanks for posting that. Had the same thing happen a few years ago. I held it upside down, as it squawked, my buddy was shooting at crows. In the confusion, the wounded one got a hold of the skin on the back of my hand. Hurt like the devil. I killed him.

I have used the filedropper site often and not had any problems what-so-ever.  You have to be careful though because on the free sites like this, they are pretty slick to get you to click on things you really dont want.  To download make sure you click on the "Download this file".

You guys are really paranoid....lol

Tell you what.. I will move to file to my personal page and you can download it from there.  Download from here.

NHCrowshooter... try it again. I just changed the link so it points to my personal page. Give that a try.

Just for kicks, I downloaded the file from filedropper and scanned it using http://virusscan.jotti.org/en.  Nothing was found.

I wanted to listen to the sound file myself but choose not to until I heard others talk about it....

...a cool item posted like that by a new member with 2 posts, it just sounded too good to be true and "fishy."

Now, I am not saying the OP has any bad intentions and everything may be fine but I just thought caution was required on this one.

Good hunting,

BH

I downloaded it with no trouble........................;no spyware, malware, un-clicked re-directs or anything.........just a simple download, and copy......

FWIW, I am running Google Chrome, which is by all accounts the best browser as far as protecting against a lot of that stuff....

Anybody that knows anything about computers knows which porn sites are safe. On a serious note virus' are quite prolific and major place to pick one up is Facebook. Be careful out there.

You have to be really careful downloading stuff.  One thing that was not mentioned is an add-on called WOT.  Stands for Web of Trust.  People basically report back on a site to say if they had problems or not.  There are times where sites are marked as potentially bad where experiences I had with them was good or I know they are safe.  But it stops the dangerous sites from opening and gives you the option.  When they are considered safe they are green.   Expecially when you are searching for something there are always safe and unsafe sites mixed together.  I only go to the safe ones first and then consider the unsafe ones later and only those that I have gone to before usually.

Thank you Kirk, the links now immediately bring up the audio file playing on Windows Media Player on my computer. It sounds great, very similiar to the Johnny Stewart Death Cry, obviously they did something similiar years ago.

I don't know if you could make money with it or not, you can always try I guess.

If your interested in sharing it further another crow hunting site has a link dump where you can find many free sound files. You would have to join the website as the link dump is member only but it's as simple as becoming a member here and you'll find many of the same people who like crow hunting on it.

NhCrowshooter,

I changed the hotlinks in the above messages to reference my personal page. I KNOW it will not ask you to install anything. If you want to play it from there, just click the link. Or.... to download it first, right click and choose "Save Target as".

 NHCrowShooter,

Since I now have my file off the site you were having trouble with, can you please remove the warning you posted a few threads above?  I dont want new readers to be scared away and not download my file.

Thanks

Kirk, What I would do in your place, is to start a new thread with the link to your sound. I would make the title of it in all capital letters for anyone to see it clearly. That would make it really easy even for new members or anyone looking for it. BTW- very cool of you to put it on here for anybody to use. Just my opinion, Kev
