They look good, I'm a big fan of flocking the decoys.

I have a half dozen GHG that are starting to get a little shiny. Debating between re-flocking or spray painting the shiny spots.

I have had good luck with spray painting dinged up flocking. It really brings them back to life. I spray the whole decoy, not just the bare spots.

Seriously lads. Pull a sock over them and you'll never have to worry about flocking. One minute work....

CrowBusters: Flocking decoys is an easy, not messy process. My 8 and 10 year old grandsons used to help me with it. Buy a flocking kit from Crowmart (its cheap and will flock a dozen decoys). All you need other than the flocking kit is a small cardboard box and a place to hang the finished decoys. Paint the decoy, sprinkle the flocking on it, tap off the excess and hang up 12 hours or less to dry. Pour any excess flocking in the box back into the bag to flock some more. Thats it. Easy as pie. Goose hunters ...do your Canada Goose heads while your at it. Gravy.

How long does the flocking usually stay on them? Im a lil rough on my decoys in my old gym bag!

Needmorebacon, if you throw them all in one bag and let them rub together, the flocking will com off pretty quickly. A lot of people, especially waterfowlers have special bags with separate compartments in them to keep the decoys safe.

Appears to be almost as a surgical procedure!

Are clean socks required?

It's really simple. Drill a 10mm hole under the beak. Pull a black (thin) sock over the decoys tail. Tighten around beak, stuff the remains of the sock in hole. Done!

Just to clarify. Decoys with socks don't work better than the ones with perfect flock. They work the same - no difference!
But they are easier to keep in good shape and are cheaper.

I can buy basic unflocked crows for 2,5€ add 0,5€ for the sock and there you are. If dirty I just let them dry and brush them off. Done. A flocked crow (the cheapest) cost 5€, the good ones 12€.

Years of service - and when accidentally peppered you don't see it...

All the best,
Zeddicus

Before I used flocked decoys, crows never landed in the spread. Flocking is great.

What is the exchange rate with your currency listed?  (What would those prices be in US dollars?)

Yes I did, thanks. That is what prompted me to start the thread, "building decoys."
