best day yet

Last saturday me and a buddy of mine had the best day we've ever had crow hunting.  We've had days in the past where we've killed 50+ birds which is great for us but this day was great for us.  We just got the Bob A. calls for my foxpro hellfire call and they really seam to do great.  I think thats what really put us over the top.  Anyway we killed somewhere between 110-125 crows.  We usually don't keep a very good count of the birds we kill, we just pick up what falls in the field and throw them back in the woods with the rest of the birds that we shoot that fall in the woods.  We set up on a big soybean field (with a dozen decoys and one woodpecker decoy with flaping wings painted black) and started calling birds came right away.  Most of the time they all come at one time and it really makes it hard to kill large numbers of crows when they all come at one time.  This day they was coming 2 and 3 at a time.  We had no trouble killing nearly everything.  We called till we ran out of shells and had to go back to the truck to restock.  We went back out there and turned the calls back on and it was on again.  We hunted in the same spot for about 2 1/2 hours before we had to leave. The birds were still coming in but i had somewhere I had to be.  By far the best hunt i've ever had we probably killed somewhere around 85 birds on this hunt. We don't usually take a lot of pictures but here is one i took with my cell phone. Thats me with 60 birds that fell in the field.

Congrats! Its too bad the world doesn't stop for crow hunting, especially when they are working the way you had them.

Kurt,

Glad to see you had a good day by any standard.

I have a fire going right now, Dick my hunting partner already went to bed.

We are both worn out from a recent hunt.

I'm glad my calls worked so well for you.

Bob A.
