Meet "The Crow Blaster"!!

I've been having some trouble with my Browning Gold Hunter 3.5" mag shotgun jamming with the cheapie Wally World dove & quail shells.

Last Saturday it jammed on me 4 or 5 times and always when a big flock was about to eat us up! LOL!

So I had an idea to make my HD shotgun into a crow gun! I bought a NIB vent ribbed barrel 28" long and 3 Rem Chokes. This 870 Remington has a 7 shot tube on it. So now I have a 8 shot "Crow Blaster" she has a pretty bland finish on her the artificial lighting and my cell phone camera does not do this beauty justice!!

Y'all think this might up my kill ratio!! LOL!

How much was it? Wally world shot jammed my 11-87 up pretty good too! I could have shot two more but the shell wouldn't eject! How does your 870 shoot? I'd like to buy one exactly like that!
Years ago I had a tube extension on a model 1100 and it worked rreeaalll sweet giving me about 8 rounds. Wish I never parted with it but the thing would jam up after 150 shots!!!

Well I've had the shotgun for a few years but only shot it with the 20" barrel and 00 buckshot!

I just picked up the barrel today and haven't tried it out yet I'll probably test fire it for pattern tomorrow. Then I'll give it the acid test probably this weekend!

I gave $150.00 for the vent rib barrel they are way more than that my friend has at least one more barrel left for the 870 it's a 28" barrel with Rem chokes and vent rib!

Ive seen those steel base cheapies get stuck in a few 870's....a couple wingmasters but mostly express models. I have never seen a quality hull like a Win AA, Rem STS, or Fed Gold Metal get stuck in a 870 with any regularity. So, if you have jam troubles with the 870 try a box of premium shells to see if that helps. I know they are a couple bucks more per box but equipment in the field that does not work is worthless.

I've got 500 Rem STS once fired hulls and 50 pounds of shot 16 pounds of powder, 1500 wads, and a 1000 209 primers.

I plan to put my brand new MEC 600 JR to work later on! I just had a stock pile of cheapies and will shoot em up.

The 870 Wingmaster has a better ejector than the 870 Express, I've owned both and this one is a Wingmaster.

I wish I had some of the doubles I've let go over the years!

The Benelli's and Beretta's both handle the El Cheapo loads (that are not that cheap any more) with no problem.

The truck will be in on Friday with ammo at Walmart. Now is when I get what I can here & there before next crow season. They do not get much per truck load, any where from 1,000 to 1,500 12 gauge trap loads at a time.

I shoot the cheapest shells I can find, which is usually Federal bricks of 100 rounds. I have never had a shell get stuck in my 870, but every once in a while I'll have an ejected shell hang up in the ejection port and once I even had the next shell fly out with the ejected shell. I think I was aiming up and to the right, so the ejection port was almost facing down.

Thanks Bob, I got on a home defense shotgun kick about 6 years ago. I ended up with two 870s and two Benelli Nova pumps.

I ended up keeping this one cause it had rifle sights and that butt stock. It's a Fajen after market with quite a bit of burl and I had my gunsmith friend put a nice oil finish on her and that Remington Super cell recoil pad!

So it's pretty much custom fitted to me I had him take a little off the heel or would that be the toe, cause I'm a meaty type a guy! LOL!! I've been meaning to get another barrel for her for a while and last Saturday was the straw that broke it for me! Probably the best $150.00 I've ever spent! LOL!

It's been several years since I was really into crow shootin! I've got a FoxPro 3 I need to get some of your calls! I only have two that I find effective. I believe I saw somewhere on here you have some for sale I've been busy I'll look em up eventually!

Chuck,

It would be nice if you could find a forearm to match the butt stock on your Wing Master.

Fox Pro and All Predator calls carry my calls in CD, MP3 or digital format.

Yeah got off my lazy butt and found em right after I posted that! LOL!

I've been a member of the FoxPro forum since I bought my FX3. 5 years ago I believe.

I kind of like that police cruiser type forearm it has a good feel to it and is easy to operate! LOL! I'm going to have to retrain myself I haven't hunted with a pump for 35 years! Figure I'll do a lot of trigger pullin instead of pumpin at first! LOL!
