Last week while shooting in a sporting clays tournament in NJ I had a funny incident happen. One morning while waiting for one event to start, a couple of us were sitting around at the edge of a field chewing the fat.
A shooting friend said she had a question: "What kind of calls do you use for crows?" After my answer, she said "Do you ever use your own voice to call them?" I told her never for common crows but sometimes for fish crows. "Let me hear it!" Two or three seconds after demonstrating a couple of examples in a low voice, out pops a fish crow who circled us a couple of times looking for some action! In spite of him being 15 yards away and us sitting there with 12 ga. shotguns and 7.5 loads, I resisted the great temptation to bust him!
We all got a chuckle out of the display!
