Son's friend from Wyoming was in town for Holiday and wanted to give these crows down here a go, so we did. Hit a spot on the rotation that has been good but we have a local that has been harassing the crows (found out more today) he hasn't shot this spot but is only a mile or so away. Anyway he has hurt the spot again for us. Crows were very wary and call shy, but we gave it all we had. Wound up picking up 35. Anyway the fellowship was great and got to talk Wyoming huntin (may be a prairie dog or some other Huntin in the future) anyway crows have a way of serving humble pie and reminding me how tough they can be and also how much I like green birds.
Butch my old partner Jerry Byroad from Maryland used to say "any one with a gun can hurt you" I said "any one with a gun and a call can hurt you" the last thing any crow hunter wants is another crow hunter in his territory!
Bob,
So true, this spot has been very productive for us with several 100 plus shoots. It's a small tight community and I thought about talking to him and just let him hunt with us instead of messing us up but some of the things he has done while we were shooting let's me know that he won't get it and will use what he learns against us. So we just have to get smarter and hope he gets bored with it.
Mark,
Feel your pain brother, tough when a great spot you've worked hard for and took care of is hunted carelessly.
I got the Prairie dog Huntin from y'all on here talking about it, Son loves long range shootin. And mercy I don't need to get addicted to anything else, don't think my wallet will survive! (lol)
