Oh the horror...the horror. I really feel for all those Liberal leftie West Coast Lower Mainland Vancouverites However, I too can remember one instance when I was attacked relentlessly by a murder of crows
Many years ago I took a shot off a country road at a crow with my 22-250. Was a long shot as I would estimate at least 300 yards. Capped off a round and behold...if I wasn't quite on... the 52 grain Hornady match bullet grazed my sable adversary and cleanly amputated a wing. The poor devil was left hopping around while its comrades flew off into the distance.
Having some empathy, I decided to walk out and dispatch the one winged crow by hand instead of shooting at it again as ownership of this particular parcel of land was questionable and farms were nearby. This from the sniper 101 handbook where thou shalt not fire a second shot from the same position.
Short of it , as I humped it out and ran the crow down I was descended upon by an angry mob of bandits which I would assume were alerted to the situation by the cries of their stricken friend.
The attack on myself by this murder was relentless. I could feel the down draft of swooping crows which did everything but part my hair! Through all this I was completely unarmed and at the mercy of the mob. Attacks lessened as I moved back to my truck leaving the amputee crow dead on the pasture.
What was learned form this? Never go to dispatch a crow unarmed
True story...
Ted

*Great Googly-Moogly! It must be absolutely terrible to live in fear of crow attacks!
Come on Ted. Say it ain't so!
*Attributed to Frank Zappa, from his album, The Apostrophe. The song was "Nanook Rubs it." Anybody else willing to admit they actually bought this album?
