Temp at sunrise 75 an was 93 at 10 a:m when we stopped. Crows cooperated and we picked up 91. This was the first crow shoot for a old friend of mine and I think he will go again. He had a gun malfunction early and cost him a few birds but he got my spare and shot well. He and I have enjoyed some great deer hunting together and honestly have caught a boatload of bass and crappie together. Plus we were on the Job together for 25 plus yrs. This was a fun hunt beside the hot temps, a lot of ragging went on today. I took a few pics but we were hunting Corporation land and they don't won't pics on social media. Of course I agreed to their rules before we shot. Year looks like it could be a good one and if the weather gets right it may be better than I think , still early and we will see.
Good question, like most guys in our job he had a side business which took a lot of his spare time and he had to choose what hunting to do and he stayed after deer. Now that he's retired that may change.
Got lucky scouting, green birds on restricted property. And just happened to meet the only person who could give permission. I tell you the old saying that "Even a blind hog can find an acorn sometimes" has some truth to it.

Had the 2nd shoot on this property today and didn't want to start a new thread, after last wed. solo hunt I was hopeful that this property would reload and show out. Didn't happen, everything was right for an above average hunt. Cool temps, overcast and plenty of food but not plenty of crows. Probly only heard 75 to a 100 and called in maybe 70 and killed 42. Still in drought conditions but a river is only 250 yards away. So I haven't a clue what's going on, don't think we have gotten any migrating down yet but just a guess. Don't get me wrong this was a good hunt for us and with crows y'all know there's no guarantees. Son and I were talking on the way home about how a few good hunts have spoiled us and we remember when we finally after a lot of hunting broke 40 the first time, well Mr. Crow showed us again it's called Huntin. Anyway had a good time and got to witness the longest shot with 7 1/2's imaginable, this was unreal and honestly I would not have believed it had I not saw it. We don't try these but this crow flared way out and cost us a few others coming in so my son out of frustration tried him and he folded. Going to keep after them as you never know when your going to have one of those great shoots.
