Spring Shooting 2017

Very early spring here, plenty of bird species here a good 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Crows were no exception...

I have been out half dozen times with the typical 20 or so bagged each morning. Not a lot compared to others but this is within 20 minutes of my home.

After a bleak winter this is a purely spiritual thing for myself...and I get to kill a bunch of crows. So nice to feel the push of a shotgun on ones shoulder again. Some random pics of the past few hunts...

Hello Ted,

Very nice photos.

I can tell you are really on them when they have shot going through there beaks.

I'm trying to get a couple of film clips up on the Bulletin Board with Pete and Lefty's help.

Keep the reports and photos coming Ted.smile  Remember, there are people starving (for crows) in SW Michigan (until August, anyhow), and we need the morale boost.

Ted,

I have been looking forward to your spring reports and pics. Congrats on the hunts and pics are great. Have to say the photo of your dog does the soul good.

By the way has your son been able to get out with you?

Ted,

Nice posts and great pictures. The ones of damaged beaks reminds me of the old saying: "You gotta shoot 'em where they eats, not where they sheets!"

It's obvious that you subscribe to that philosophy!

Hi Ted,

Good to see you are having such a fun run on crows.  Multiple hunts with such results can't be beat.  Love your photo's, too.  Blued steel and walnut from old Winchester's paired with fresh black crows are the ticket!

Take care,
