Here is a photo that was taken when I still hand loaded for shotgun ammo. This was before I moved to Kansas, that is my late wife Gail in this photo.

Hi Bob,

As you know the price of shot makes reloading 20 and 12 gauge a less attractive option these days!

Regards,

Hi Bob,

I quit reloading shotgun ammo over 17 years ago.

When I quit a sack of shot (25 lbs) cost about $ 18.00 a sack. Powder was also getting high so I figured my time was worth something and I quit as the savings were not enough to justify the time it took to reload.

So how is the rest of the patrol?

Bob A.

What are you guys paying for shot these days? I can find $37 a bag for target size shot and $39.99 for #6 in my neck of the woods.

Prices are pretty much the same here on the MD Eastern Shore. Things have gone up since they closed the Doe Run plant in MO.no

Hi Bob,

The TCP is at full strength.  Lone Star Phil and I have a round of sporting clays queued up at my new club on Saturday afternoon.  Texas Matt and I are planning our planning our annual Labor Day Dove and Skunk Hunt.  August is a busy month for me - doing rep work for all over the state for Mossy Oak, Hornady, and Leupold.

Hi NH,

I am seeing $39 a bag here for shot.

Regards,

I had to move some ammo to another bedroom because of the weight. I didn't want the upper floor winding up in the basement! Now I think I am ready for a banner season.

I'd say so. Looks like 42 cases.

If you shoot 70% that is 7,350 crows.

Hi Jason,

In 1997 I had my best year of 6,349 crows. I am going to try and break that record this season, only time will tell. You need a little luck getting the right breaks as you well know.

I wish you a banner season as well.
