Thats what I'm doing, trying to find them! Bobs Hurricane post on crows leaving may be spot on. Strange lack of birds on prime property here. Made a hunt Saturday a:m on a spot that is not one of my best but we have averaged around 60 here in the past. Anyway it was overcast 69 degrees and 8 to 12 wind, not bad for here to hunt. Heard the first crow at 6:45 a:m and it was slow, wound up with 23. So they may have gotten out of Dodge after 2 "Canes" have came thru, don't know what's going on but it's all I got. Anyway there's no quit in my game, may just be on a down cycle and just be thankful I still have some to hunt. It's a new season with new challenges to try and figure out, that's why it's called "Huntin" So that's what I'm gona do and they had better not let there guard down cause this old redneck may be in a blind ready with plenty of ammo
Just got home from four days of hunting with Jerry Tomlin in the Augusta, GA & Aiken, SC areas. We hunted time-tested good pecan orchards that have averaged at least 50 birds in the past. We have had many century shoots in these spots over the years. This year's total for 4 days?... 71 birds! UGH!!
Something is going on this year and I can only guess this is related to the hurricanes. On the other hand, the first two hunts near Charleston have netted 107 and 55 birds. Going again tomorrow, so will post an update when I can. Stay tuned, and good luck on your search.

Demi, did you shoot the 71 birds alone since you were the client or did you have another shooter in the party? Any crow shooter can have a dry spell, years ago Dick and I set up 3 different times in one day and shot 6 crows! Six! Thank God things have improved since that dreadful day a field. Those are memories best left in disturbed before I have a psychotic episode!

Bob,
Not alone. This was the first session of our annual "Crow Week" where we invite friends to hunt with us and Jerry Tomlin is the guide. The two pictures show the two groups that attended, including (1st photo) my son, his future father-in-law (w/crutches) and another clays shooting friend. The next photo was with my wife and another couple who shoot with us each year.
This is crow hunting with a social flair. The days include crow hunting, a round of sporting clays, good food and the consumption of some fine adult beverages. The main focus is having fun with good friends, but most are very strong shooters so Jerry's numbers do not take a hit...we usually increase his TBC average.
This year was particularly slow, but with all of the other activities, fellowship and fun, the numbers are way down on the priority list. It was a fun time for all.
Things are different this fall here and sounds like it was where you were the 4 day hunt, hope your next session is great. Think things will get better over here, I hope so because a 3 hr trip there and 3 back for 23 makes for a tough day. But a couple yrs back I did 8hrs total driving for 15 and that did sting a bit, so I didn't break that record . Anyway I have several more orchards to try and hopefully they will have birds.
