I have tried 3 different mouth calls and they sound great inside but I live in northern NY and after the first couple blows of the morning they seem to be freezing up. Am I doing something wrong or is it there a better option? I have tried keeping them tucked in my coat but not always an option.
The reed will stick on many models. The trick that helps me the most is to coat the reed (only) of my calls with Rain-X. Some people use the Rain-X that you coat on the windshields with a rag, but I have been using the simple pre-mixed windshield washer fluid. Let it dry and re-install into the call(s).
It is not a be-all/end-all, but it may cure some sticking calls.
Hope this helps. Good hunting!
Demi
