Today was it for crow season in Oklahoma. I am proud to claim a total of 64 KIA. this season. and a few unconfirmed. Not a huge number but i'm a one man show every time out. 48 were taken on my own 30 acre property & the other 16 at a friends. Today was my best day with 12 downed ! Had a nice setup today on the back side of a huge brush pile & two pallets for cover, worked fine. they were flying upstream and low and i would open up at the 25 yard mark. With all the learning this year i think i can up my game next year by hunting smart & not hard. Got to find those flyways !!! So now the caw caw caw that has been ringing in my ears when i go to sleep will soon be replaced by FISH ON ! GET THE NET & the batteries will come out of the caller, The decoys will gather some dust & the gun barrel will get cold. But don't think i wont be watching for those good spots for next year's hunts ! So, i would like to wish all my fellow crowbusters a healthy off season & hope we are all back again next season. And for those of you who can still hunt i would like to use a saying i saw on the forum before. KEEP EM FALLIN BOYS !! It's been fun.
A fine day indeed! And great photos as well, thanks for your post. Sadly, our season has also ended and it will be a long few months before I can try out some new equipment, but that anticipation will keep me thinking of the good days in the blind.
Your experience factor is showing with each hunt. That high number will continue to increase with future hunts. It's always a great feeling to have those banner hunts to remember while planning for the next outing.
Good fishing!

Yes, all available cover. Even the pallets were already there. Not the most concealed hide but i wear a leafy suit head to toe so they never knew i was there until i pulled the trigger. Only 2 came from behind and snuck up on me, they just circled above me and i got one. One note, I'm not the best shot so what i did & you cant tell because i took them down before the pics was to put 2 decoys as sentrys about 6 feet to my side, 3 decoys on the ground about 15 feet in front of me and i would pick up the dead and put them real close to me in the limbs. This put the incoming crows right in my face which made it a little easier for me. Especially when they come in low to the distress call and then put on the brakes and glide up against the wind to see what's going on right in front of me. So, yes a good blind is great but you can improvise and do well also if you dont mind sitting on a log all day . My butt is still sore ! & i saw a crow gathering material for a nest yesterday so it's nesting time in central Oklahoma.
Wonderful blind Camo. Yes flyway shoots are the ticket for higher volume kills. Don't like to shoot feeding locations but rater intercept crows as they fly into and out of these fields. Also watching crow behavior and areas of concentration is most of the battle. Ive had so many good shoots by simply pulling the truck over and observing or following a string of crows moving cross country. Thanks for sharing your season with us and hope you double your numbers next.
