Yesterday the 2018 Crow Season started here in MD! Unfortunately, I was not able to get out BUT, was able to finish putting up the boudin that the Hoodoo Lady and I made!! Oh Yeah!!
Also managed to sneak over and get things set up for today. Things were really slow. Got all the Crow,Fish set up and settled down in the blind to await the first of the nasty boogers to join the party. Wasn't long after legal hours and 2 came in on a string. Dropped one but couldn't get another shell in the single barrel fast enough to make the other one famous. Darn. It was a long time till the next bunch came in. 5 fish crows, no shot. Another long wait and 5 more fish crows. Not sure if they were the same, but I think so. No shot! Things were not happening!!
Told myself, "Self, we gotta change things up!" So I started blowing a fighting call. Wasn't long and a single came in. Closer and closer he came and finally I let lead fly! Feathers went everywhere but he didn't fall. I watched him struggle away and fall into a pine thicket. Must have been a lung shot. Now 2 for 2, I was feeling good. Nothing else came in, so I wrapped up and headed home.
Expectations are as high as the fish crows fly for this year!!

Thanks for the report and pictures. Nice blind as well. You must really like that single shot. Seems like I cuss enough without having to do it while reloading after every shot, so I'd say an upgrade is in order as well. Unless of course you're using it as a shell saving device.
Thanks ya'll! An upgrade has been on my wish list for a while. Think it has gone to the bucket list now though. Been using a single bbl for 50+ years. Saving shells has never bothered me, I roll my own. Very relaxing!
