If this is all true it is indeed a shame, he was still a relatively young guy. I have not seen his name in any of the obituaries in Milledgeville Georgia?
We’ve all got to be thinking about that eventually. Nobody will leave this world alive. Fortunately, with the help of our Savior, there is the best life ever waiting for us. It’s going to be great!

P.S. Would still like to pop a few more crows before the journey begins!😀

Condolences to the Tomlin family and a special thanks to Jerry's legacy for his advancement of our sport. In fact, his original "Crow Roost" website first gave me the idea that we needed to band together and shortly after I created "The Crow Hunters Page" followed by "Crow Busters". I never hunted with Jerry, but did have a number of phone calls with him and he was quite a character. And I say that in a good way. First Dick Mermon and now Jerry Tomlin. It has not been a good year for our fraternity.
Sure hate to see him go. I’ve hunted with Jerry every year for over 15 years. He did have his quirks that I initially found to be frustrating, but his commitment to providing the best hunts for his clients made them very minor.
When we ran into call shy birds, Jerry always had backup orchards to go to on short notice. This was due to his burning up the roads scouting all orchards in his high-mileage “Crowmobile.” Nobody saw that side of his job, but everyone hunting with him benefited from it. He knew crow hunting from the inside out because he worked hard and paid his dues.
Jerry was a good man and I will feel the loss of this friend of mine for a long time.

I hunted with Jerry for many years.. I saw him on tv on an ETV show one Christmas night and wanted to hunt. Called him and my dad and booked a hunt.. I was hooked.. Jerry worked very hard to find birds, and never ending battle.. He was a little "quirky" to say the lest but that was part of his charm.. I stayed with Jerry at his house a few times and hunted, the next day, just he and I not too far from his "roost." We killed squirrels after one hunt and skinned them and cooked them at his former brother in laws house.. Jerry sent me pictures of his back after his brother in law shot him while on a crows hunt. With number 6"s.. He took medicine for the lead he had in his system.
My dad and I went with Jerry to see his sister perform in Aiken at a concert. Laura is a accomplished violinist and a beautiful woman.. I was fishing after a crow hunt one time and a guy in a ultra light crashed into a tall pine tree about 300 yards from us and died while still in the plane. Jerry and I both gave statements to law enforcement about what happened. Jerry used to fly ultra lites and told law enforcement exactly what happened.. Amazing guy!
Jerry and I hunted many time just the two of us because of cancelations but he always went to the good places even when it was the two of us. We had several +100 bird hunts.. I killed 105 one when it was just he and I and I killed 90% of those.. And I actually rode in the "crow mobile" amazing mileage and "stanky" old dodge van... Jerry would always pick up each crow and look for oddities and bands.. My dad and I and Jerry killed 3 brown feathered fish crows on one hunt. Jerry took all of them to a taxidermist and had them mounted..
I haven't hunted with Jerry for the last several years due to work schedule and I have my own places and guide now myself for my dad and my friend.. Jerry will be missed ( not by the crows) God speed Jerry!!

Demi,
If by His grace I make it, I'm thinking there'll be an endless supply of crows to pop. It is heaven after all!
Jerry Tomlin taught me a lotaboutcrow hunting in his video Eating Crow.Very informative in every way. Rest in peace Mr. Tomlin and prayers for his family.
