Run and gun

Hello everyone,

All we do is run and gun for crows. We don’t have the flyways or great food sources here. My buddy and me can’t decide if we need a mojo crow or some decoys to help our odds. We are in and out probably in 20 to 30 minutes when we call.  We use a fox pro for the calling. If you just run and gunned what would you do? decoys or not. We don’t build blinds just try to back into a tree or cedar. how would you guys setup?

Jon,

I do a lot of run & gun in my area also. All I take is one decoy that I put in a visiable area, the decoy I use is a felt decoy that has a clothes pin on the bottom for clipping onto a branch. We do our best to find short cedar trees to set up in just like you do.

That is how I do it only I don't use any decoys. I call and shoot and move on. Used to anyways. Don't do it that way anymore.

setting out two or three dead crows works better than decoys for me on Run and gun.
