Spring is close and the birds know it. There has been lots of honkers and crows on the move the last couple days. The history in my journal shows that traditionally the best crow migration movements will occur in my area sometime between March 10 thru March 25. This year is no different.
A warm up is melting our 2' of snow cover in about two days. What a mess. The migrators seem a bit late here, but I've noticed more geese around the last few days. Thanks for the photo.
Ive recently moved to Northern Pennsylvania, I’ve scouted the last few days here in the mountains and seen few birds of any species. What Crows are here are singles or have paired up. I’ve got 4 weeks until the season ends here.

My shooting percentage was so piss poor the first hour of this hunt. Thankfully that was the slowest segment of this hunt. I had a good number of birds closer than 15 yards that made me look like a complete rookie with a shotgun. I was wearing a jacket and there were a few things that were inhibiting a quality & consistent gun mount. The wind made the shooting quite sporty and I didn’t need human error to make things even more difficult. I eventually got it dialed in.
Seems like I am more likely to start out shooting “cold” than have shooting struggles mid way thru a hunt. I’m not sure if it is more common to start slow or to have a bad stretch in the middle.
