Shoot or don't shoot the scouts that leave the roost to check out your calls.
One fellow with over 20,000 kills says Don't let the scouts get away kill them. If they don't come back the murder thinks they found something good to eat so they didn't return.
The other fellow says don't shoot them let them return and bring more back with them.
Who is right?
Been crow hunting for quite awhile, I have shot the scouts and I have missed the scouts. Generally letting the scouts know the set up isn't good for them. If they fly up and give a warning call the fun is over. Run and gun you just go to another location and try to spank a few. Sure would like to shoot more crows than I have.
These are the only Scout Crows I know of. Shoot any Crow within range. If you miss he will call a retreat. Pack up move 1 mile and start over with a different call to attract them. Repeat until the hunt is finished or you eliminate the murder.
