Paul and I didn’t hunt this morning but got set up on a spot we had our eye on. We had an idea that this little spot could produce a good hunt and this evening it did. We shot 90 percent fish crows this evening and downed 152 of the little suckers. Paul accounted for 61 and I shot 91.
The weather helped us out a lot, we had a good wind and foggy conditions. We were set up by noon and shot about 25 from noon till 3:30 when the shooting began to pick up and reached a crescendo around 4:30 when we had steady shooting for 45 minutes.
Bob, Dale said we weren't setting up unless we found a spot that had the element of surprise . In other word's, by the time the bird's see the setup they are already in range. And boy does it make a difference !! We had to improvise at the bare pecan orchard but the blind's & the wind helped us out. I wonder who he learned that from ? LOL. Paul.
